Andreas Knie is leader of the project group Mobility at the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB), Area manager for Intermodal Services at Deutsche Bahn AG (DB Rent GmbH) and Professor at the TU Berlin.

Andreas Knie received his training in political science in Marburg and Berlin. Since 1988 he is a research fellow at the WZB research area: "Society and Economic Dynamics" and since 2006 managing director  of the Innovationszentrum für Mobilität und gesellschaftlichen Wandel (InnoZ). His research focuses on transport, technology policy and analyses of innovation processes.
